NIGHT OF WORSHIP CARDIFF | MARCH 2017 | In a nut-shell.

The night of worship is a gospel music concert which is organised by the SOEL Connect team (aka The NoW Crew). The just concluded edition of this concert was held in partnership with Cardiff University Timothy Bible Study group. The project team for this concert was made up of over 50 people including; musicians, singers, dancers, gospel artists and several volunteers from universities and churches in wales and across the UK. This concert is considered to be a gospel arts outreach project and it aims to give live to our communities, restore hope, transforms lives, rebuild families, saves souls and ignite a fire of revival. It seeks to create a free atmosphere of worship whereby ordinary people can connect with God in a deep personal way.

This concert attracts people from different parts of the UK, irrespective of race, gender, statues and serves as a great platform where different people can come together to worship and praise God without any restrictions what-so-ever. This edition of the night of worship held in Cardiff University’s great hall on 10th march was tagged “God is Working”. It was a night of extraordinary praise and worship. It was celebrated in style through various arts; singing and dance performances, worship sessions, spoken word as well as life changing testimonies. The NoW editorial team was able to gather several testimonials from people; expressing how they felt about the night, how they encountered God, some for the first time and how people lives where transformed.

Preparing for this concert was a journey for the entire Soel team, All hands were fully on deck from the publicity team to the choir and dance as well as the media and design team. We set out to make this concert a super memorable one and there is no doubt that it was. There was publicity outreaches taking place in the various universities in Cardiff, up to Cardiff city centre; which involved inviting people to share in this beautiful experience. This project involved many late nights of rehearsals to put up such an extraordinary evening praise and worship.

Lights, camera, action, music, dance, extraordinary demonstration of gospel arts; Cardiff will definitely not forget what went down on the 10th of March; it saw hundreds of people troop into the Great hall. The atmosphere was buzzing, the rhythm was inviting, the groove was invigorating, the heavens were open as it was going to be a good night. From the moment the voices rose in singing, there was a change in the atmosphere, the praise and worship was pure, powerful and delivered with real beauty. The singers kept taking us to different levels of worship and praise which charged the atmosphere and stirred up our spirits. Amazing!

There was also spoken word as well as the dance performances beautifully rendered. As if this was not enough, thereafter, came the African praise session. This session of praise was vibrant and full of life. You could see people from all ethnic backgrounds in full sway to the rythym of the music. To crown it all, we had over 20 people mostly young adults respond for altar calls and ministry time. It was a true demonstration of unity in diversity, definitely a night to remember as people had a lot to say even after the event was over.

The team can proudly say that this was one of the best gospel events the city of Cardiff has seen in recent years. God’s glory was indeed revealed through His people. Lives were restored, and we believe that a seed of revival has be sown in our community which yield in coming months and years as the scope of this project spreads wider reaching out to lots more people and various facets of the community.

Doing this again is a definite yes! and many more to come.
